That Beautiful Matt Look OSMO TOP OIL

Working with wood sometimes the shiny look isn't really what you are looking for. You want that nice satin or subdued look. A lot of people want the Matt look because it is classic. You see the timber and you really see the overall look of the beautiful grains that we have available to us.In Australia we are fortunate enough to have some of the most amazing timber species available anywhere. We have the combination of hardwood and beautiful grain. From the deep colours of a rich piece of Jarrah through to the amazing grain you find in eastern states light hardwoods such as Spotted Gum or coastal Blackbutt.

One of the problems with working with coatings on timber that build up on the surface of the wood is the problem of having to build up many fine coats and trying to avoid the problem of dust or grit settling into the coating surface. Hard wax heavy duty oils offer a solution to this because you work the product into the surface of the timber. Unique in the range of products available is Osmo. Osmo hard wax oils from Germany are simple to use and yet offer a heavy duty level of performance. They are quite literally one of the easiest products to use and more and more woodworkers are turning to this product to achieve the classic result that they are looking for.

Top oil is one of the products that is widely used because it is available in small quantities. It's an ideal product to have in the shed. It's important to forget about the usual rules of coverage whereby when you apply a product a significant proportion of what you apply evaporates. With Osmo you are working with a pure hard wax oil formulation most of which will set inside the timber and therefore give you an unbelievable level of coverage and performance. Top oil is food safe when dry as well so if you have product left over and you want to use it on a chopping board for example then there is no problem.
